Cowboy Hats

Western hats, more commonly known as cowboy hats are the defining piece of the Old American West, as farm and ranch workers, American and Mexican cowboys made this fashion accessory popular, not so much for the style itself but rather to serve a variety of purposes. Cowboy western hats were worn for sun and rain protection, to fan the campfires, signal others from afar, and even pull water from a nearby stream.

Today, western hats have circled the Globe. We've seen these wide brim cowboy hats from the South and Western United States, to parts of Canada and Northern Mexico, as well as adorning the heads of the Country Music industry's biggest stars including, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich.

For all you ladies out there don't be fooled by the historically male trend, as there are a variety of women's western hats that have been seen gracing the beaches of Hawaii to European cafes on celebrities like Brooke Shields, Britney Spears, and Jessica Simpson. Nearly all cowboy hat styles are identical for men and women, making it even easier to find the look that's right for you.
