Labor Day Looks: Transitioning Seasons

Labor Day Looks: Transitioning Seasons

Labor Day is right around the corner, and with it we sit on the cusp between the summer and autumn seasons, meaning it's time to break out your transitional wardrobe pieces and really have some fun with your holiday weekend looks!

From backyard bar-b-ques and final summer strolls on the boardwalk, to the bonfires welcoming cooler nights, there is without doubt a hat for any and all facets of fun to be had this Labor Day weekend.

Turning Up The Heat: Lighter Weight Looks

For some of us, the late summer/early fall is a time where the temperatures blaze on, making it a necessity to remain cool and covered from the sun. Keeping to linens and cottons, as well as straws will help beat the heat, even as you allow yourself to play with your palette and opt for subtle nods in color toward the inevitable fall.

For example, it's the perfect time to keep rocking wide straw brims like the Belfry Matera with its warm brown straw and handy chin strap and Belfry Pirlo, a safari fedora sporting an almost distressed look with a black wash over the straw.

If a fedora is more your thing, maybe the oh-so-swanky Belfry Neve or its stingy brim counterpart, the Belfry Speranza are right up your alley? Crushable and breathable, this hemp duo would dress up any look with a touch of flair.

In linen, such styles like the Belfry Cerio will keep you covered and stylish in a fashionable bucket (or if you prefer hemp, why not try the Belfry Morla?), and if you like a cute cap, ladies, the Belfry Marsala is a fun addition to any casual look with its open newsie cut--pair this with a jean jacket if you're planning to be out on a cooler day for a fall vibe even well after the fact!

For cotton or cotton blends, the reversible Belfry Erica linen/cotton bucket is a light bucket for ladies who want a hat with versatility--and don't worry about the white. Wearing white on and after Labor Day is no longer the faux pas it once was. Allow yourself to enjoy it!

Welcoming Autumn: Falling into Felts & Heavier Weights

It's safe to say we've been abuzz excitedly fussing over our all new felts and the fun new colors, and what better excuse to share some with you than the cool respite the evenings are beginning to hold?

For some pops of color to bring to the festivities, the Belfry Stefani in its bold wine and Belfry Perussi with its soft light blue are immediate favorites. Likewise, if you prefer a more neutral route, the Belfry Masetti is a cool taupe that will offer flexibility in pairing it with anything you so choose. Crafted in soft, crushable merino wool, their safari silhouettes provide coverage and leisure for any weekend travels that may await you.

Classic and stylish silhouettes are Labor Day ready with the sleek Belfry Palmira with its sleek safari fedora shape, and the classy boater look of the Belfry Evelina is sure to turn heads--especially that beautiful bordeaux color!

A heavier weight than their linen and hemp counterparts, cotton canvas choices like the Belfry Mariano and Belfry Lambro offer sleek modern cuts to the classic six panel caps keeping them trim against the head. The Belfry Mariano also comes with fashionable leather accents along the top button and bill for added nods toward the approaching autumnal season.

In matters of leather and suede, we have a good slew of options to cap off your look. For suedes, the perforated Belfry Pienza gives breathability and for a warmer option, the solid Belfry Ercole is perfect for added protection. If you prefer leather, look no further than our Belfry Carter (a beloved staple for us for several years now!) and the newer Belfry Romeo if you want a sleeker pub look.

With so much to choose from, you're sure to have a grand time piecing together your long weekend looks!
