Generally, the brim of an ivy cap is made to be flat, with either stitching or button snaps running along the top. This fastens a fuller body and crown to the brim. With duckbill/pub caps, the brims are bent downwards (the way someone would shape the brim of an old-school baseball cap). The body/crown is stitched to the brim, giving the cap a more streamline look and feel. Unlike ivy caps (which can leave excess materials at the top), pub caps are much more form fitting to the head.
