Our partnership with Hats & Dreams brings a distinctly creative and feminine point of view to Belfry Italia. The brand is the creative extension of Cappellificio Vecchi, a family hatmaking business in Montappone with roots reaching back to the early 1900s. Today, under the leadership of Maurilio Vecchi and Fiorangela Dichiari, the fourth-generation company continues that tradition with hats known for their soft shapes, beautiful materials, artistic details, and unmistakable sense of personality. It's a heritage we respect, but what makes the relationship especially important to us is what we can create together.
When we travel to Italy, we don't simply walk through the Hats & Dreams collection and decide what to buy. We sit down together and talk about what we want to make next for Belfry. We work through materials, colors, patterns, brim shapes, crown proportions, trims, packability, and finishing details, combining their creativity and technical knowledge with what we've learned from our customers. A shape we love might need a different brim. A beautiful ribbon pattern may inspire a new color combination. A customer favorite may lead us to explore another material or develop a version that's easier to pack and travel with. The collection evolves through that conversation.
Our customers play a surprisingly important role in those meetings. After more than four decades of selling women's hats, we've learned that a beautiful design also has to work in real life.
